6 Steps to Perfect Kitchens in Edinburgh Homes
As kitchen designers and installers, we are often asked how we create bespoke, perfect kitchen for so many people. In effect, we take a 6-stepped approach to getting the right kitchen, at the right price for every customer.
Step 1 – Visualise the Kitchen
When we work with a new client, we ask all kinds of questions but they all lead to the same point – how do you want your kitchen to look?
Some people have great ideas and know instantly how they want their finished kitchen to look but others need more help to visualise (and realise!) their kitchen dream.
Step 2 – Set a Budget
Unfortunately, your dream kitchen with everything included may be far beyond the reach of your budget! And this is where you need to start compromising.
This can be tough but we make sure that you get as much for your money as you possibly can.
Step 3 – Choose the Best Quality Materials and Appliances
It can be hard to know on what things you should and should not compromise on. We think there are several things on which you should look to spend as much as you can to get the best quality;
- Appliances – kitchen appliances work hard and so quality and price often walk hand-in-hand.
- Worktop material – it may be that you cannot stretch to granite but there are other alternatives that work just as well.
- Sockets – in modern kitchens in Edinburgh, always include plenty of electrical sockets.
Step 4 – Demolition Begins!
This is the exciting part! When the plans are finalised, we start the process of installing your new kitchen. This means pulling out the old one and making the walls good ready for the new kitchen, electrics and so on to be installed.
Step 5 – Paint the Kitchen
Once the units and doors are in situ, we always suggest before any protective wrapping or film are disposed of that the kitchen is tiled and/or painted.
Once this is complete, accessories can be added too.
Step 6 – Finish with the Floor
Sometimes, installing or repairing the floor happen at an early point in the installation but sometimes, it is the last aspect of a kitchen to be completed.
Like other items in a kitchen, the floor takes a lot of punishment in the shape of the foot traffic, as well as food stains and smells. Choosing a high-quality hard floor solution makes sense and for many new kitchen in Edinburgh, it is the final addition that brings everything together.
